When the box arrives at the Nova Post warehouse, the employees check its contents for prohibited goods. The employees are entitled to open a packaged parcel.

Why is it important to indicate the declared value correctly?
The declared value affects the customs payments that may be charged after crossing the Ukrainian border. Thus, the declared value must equal the market value of the parcel.
If a Customs officer discovers that the declared value of the parcel differs from its actual value, the officer may detain the parcel at the border, reappraise the postal item, and charge the customs payments based on the market value.
