Cost of parcel delivery services from Canada
- How delivery cost is calculated
The delivery service rate is calculated based on the greater value: actual or volumetric weight* of the parcel.
The volumetric weight of the parcel is calculated based on the parcel's dimensions.
* Calculation formula: Volumetric weight (kg) = Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm) / 4 000

- How declared value and invoiced value affect delivery cost
Declared value is the amount the company will pay in case of loss or damage to the parcel. Invoiced value is the value of the international parcel's contents
The invoiced value must match the actual market price specified in the receipt or invoice.
The invoiced value is used for customs declaration, as well as for compensation payment in case of loss or damage to the parcel.
Specify the real market value of the item. If the valuation is overstated, customs may provide their own assessment and charge customs duties, while the company may request supporting documents to pay compensation.
If the declared value or invoiced value of the parcel exceeds $200, a fee of 0.5% of the parcel's value is added to the delivery rate.
Calculation example:
Coffee maker
Value $5
Fee is already included in the delivery rateBuilding set
Value $230
Fee: $230*0.5% = $1.15
