How to send a parcel from Canada
Send only items that are allowed for transport.
If a prohibited item is found inside the parcel, the parcel will be returned to the sender.
Declare the true invoice value of the parcel contents
The invoice value of a shipment is the value the sender states in the documents or the customs declaration at the time of shipping. It is used to calculate duties, taxes and other charges that may apply when the shipment is imported into the destination country, as well as to calculate compensation in case the parcel is lost.
The invoice value of the shipment must correspond to the market value.

What “customs value of a parcel” and “invoice value of a parcel” mean
Customs value of a parcel — the invoice value of the parcel stated in the invoice + the delivery cost + the fixed duty, if one has been charged. VAT is calculated on this amount.
Invoice value of a parcel — the sum of the value of every item in the invoice. The import duty rate is determined against the invoice value of each item, since the amount of import duty depends on the type of goods under the TARIC classification.
