Payment by the recipient: Hassle-free delivery
This is a convenient option that allows the Sender to make an international express shipment while transferring the delivery payment to the Recipient.
This means that as the Sender, you have the opportunity to manage logistics costs more effectively. You simply need to inform and agree with the Recipient in advance about the delivery payment.
How does it work
- Determining the payer for logistics services: The Sender must inform the Recipient and obtain their consent for paying logistics services to the Nova Post group company in the currency of the recipient’s country.
- Creating the shipment: The Sender creates the shipment as usual, providing all necessary details for an international shipment.
- Selecting the payer: When processing the shipment, you choose the "Payment by recipient" option.
- Delivery: Your parcel will be delivered to a branch in the country where Nova Post operates.
- Payment: The Recipient pays all delivery-related costs via the mobile application or at the branch upon receiving the parcel.
- Collection: The Recipient can collect the parcel at a Nova Post branch.

Customs clearance of the shipment
Changes in customs clearance conditions for shipments to France
Starting March 1, 2026, France has introduced a new tax on imported parcels. It applies to all international shipments regardless of their value.
The tax amount is €2 per each type of goods (HS code) in the parcel.
Please note that this tax is charged in addition to customs duties and import VAT.
More details are available at the link.
- Invoice value of the parcel: up to €45
The parcel is not subject to additional customs duties (unless the customs determines that the invoice value of the parcel exceeds €45).
- Invoice value of the parcel: €45-150
- Invoice value of the parcel exceeds €150
Calculation example
The product costs €300. Customs duties will be as follows:
- Import duty = €300 х 17% = €51
- VAT = (€300 + €51) х 20% = €70.2
- fee = €9.90
Tax to be paid by the recipient: €51 + €70,2 + 9,90€= €131,1
A fee of €9.90 will be applied only in cases involving tax liabilities and will be invoiced directly to the recipient.
This can happen if a customs officer detects a breach of the rules:
- The contents of the parcel differ from the list specified in the declaration
- The invoice value differs from the real one
- The parcel contains goods prohibited for transportation
- Over the past month, the recipient has already received international shipments with a total invoice value exceeding €150
