FAQ
- How should the parcel be handed over to a courier for deliveryA box needs to be packed and closed when it is being handed over to a courier. Upon arrival at our warehouse, Nova Post employees check that the contents of the parcel do not contain goods that are not accepted for transportation. Employees are entitled to open a packed parcel. The only exception is for items in their original factory packing.
- Why is it important to indicate the declared value correctlyThe declared value affects the customs payments that may be charged after crossing the Ukrainian border. Thus, the declared value must reflect the market value of the parcel. If a customs house officer reveals that the declared value of the parcel differs from the actual one, the officer may detain the parcel at the border, reevaluate the postal item and apply customs payments at the market value.
- How does the recipient pay the customs charges in UkraineA Nova Post representative contacts the recipient at the indicated phone number or email. The recipient needs to provide:
■ a scanned copy or photo of the first and the second pages of the passport or both sides of the ID card passport
■ scanned copy or photo of their taxpayer code (formerly – TIN)
The customs payment is made prior to receiving the parcel at the branch, in a parcel locker, or at an address. - How will the recipient know that their parcel arrived in UkraineOnce parcel has arrived at a post office or parcel locker in Ukraine, the recipient will be notified via Viber, SMS, or the Nova Post mobile app. Upon receipt at the address, the recipient will be contacted by the courier.
