What is the declared value
The declared value of the goods means the amount of money that the sender or exporter indicates in the documents or customs declaration when exporting the goods. This is an estimate of how much the goods are worth, which is used to calculate duties, taxes, and other charges that may apply when the goods are imported into the country of destination.
Attention! The declared value of the shipment must match the market value.
Consequences of understating the value:
- Customs issues. Understating the value of goods may arouse suspicion and, accordingly, an inspection by customs authorities, which may cause delays in the export of the parcel or its return.
- Loss of insurance cover. If the value is incorrect, this may affect the claim for insurance indemnity in the event of loss or damage to the goods.
What is the export purpose
The export purpose means a specific goal that a company or individual achieves by sending goods outside the country.
When defining the export purpose, make sure you are clear about your intentions, as this will affect customs clearance procedures, documentation, and possible additional costs.
