Permitted shipments for transporting across Ukraine

  • Food products

    Permitted:

    • 1
      Vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs packed according to the Nova Post Packaging Standard, which pose no risk of polluting other shipments and subject to the condition that such vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs do not originate from areas with a special quarantine regime.

    Not accepted for transportation: 

    foodstuffs requiring special temperature control or with a shelf life of up to 5 days (expiration dates must be specified on the package), chilled or frozen goods, and dairy products.

  • Money/tokens

    Not accepted for transportation:

    national currency (except for numismatic coins and related collections), foreign currency, and securities.

  • Medicines and narcotics

    Permitted:

    • 1
      Medical products, biologically active supplements/dietary products, cosmetic products ordered by customers online in pharmacies/pharmacy supermarkets/etc.
    • 2
      Shipments that do not relate to medicinal products and do not require special temperature conditions.
    • 3
      Human biological material in the form of a smear (including from the oral cavity).
    • 4
      Medicinal, antiseptic, disinfectant and laundry detergents containing up to 70% alcohol in plastic and metal containers of a capacity not exceeding 10 liters.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    • 1
      Medicinal products that require special storage and transportation conditions (including hydrogen peroxide), ethyl alcohol, veterinary immunobiological products.
    • 2
      Psychotropic substances and precursors included by the Drug Control Committee of the Ministry of Health in the list of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors subject to special control in accordance with the legislation.

  • Firearms and their parts

    Not accepted for transportation:

    all kinds of firearms, main parts of weapons, devices for firing bullets equipped with rubber or similar non-lethal projectiles and ammunition, cold steel arms, and other items, specially designed for offense and defense (brass knuckles, stilettoes, cans with paralytic liquid, etc.), munitions, explosive initiating devices, explosives devices or substances, flammable or other hazardous substances, unless otherwise provided by law.

  • Animals, insects, animal remains, human ashes, raw fur

    Not accepted for transportation: in any form.

  • Hazardous substances

    Permitted: 

    substances labelled with hazard classes 8 and 9, except acids (regardless of concentration) and substances containing any amount of acid, hydrogen peroxide or other chemical compounds with oxidising properties.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    • 1
      Hydrogen peroxide, acids, high-octane oxygen-containing impurities (chemical compounds added to gasoline), as well as liquids and substances in containers and other vessels with class 1 to 7 hazard signs on the manufacturer's label (sticker) inclusive: flammable, ignitable, and explosive substances, radioactive substances and other dangerous shipments with appropriate labeling ("explosive materials and substances", "pyrotechnic products", "gases", "flammable liquids", "spontaneously combustible substances", "toxic and infectious substances", "oxidizing substances", "radioactive materials", "corrosive and caustic substances", "other dangerous substances and products".
    • 2
      Poisonous plants.
    • 3
      Asbestos and its products (pipes, slate, etc.)

  • Accumulators of all types

    Permitted:

    new batteries, the terminals of which were in use closed with factory plastic caps (both in factory packaging and without), only from/to freight departments or from/to address.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    any used batteries.

  • Lamps, light fixtures

    Permitted: 

    light fixtures without lamps.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    fluorescent lamps and other products that contain mercury.

  • Cylinders/ cartridges/ fire extinguishers

    Permitted: 

    empty cartridges, spray cans with the shut-off valve removed (without valve).

    Not accepted for transportation:

    filled with liquids/gases (propane, butane, isobutane and other flammable gases) spray cans, cartridges, fire extinguishers.

  • Hydrogen peroxides

    Not accepted for transportation: in any concentration or container.

  • Acids

    Not accepted for transportation:

    in any concentration or container, including substances that contain any amount of acid, hydrogen peroxide or other chemical compound with oxidizing properties (regardless of concentration).

  • Pyrotechnic products

    Not accepted for transportation: in any form.

  • Containers with liquids

    Perrmitted the following chemicals labeled as 2nd and 3rd hazard class in the manufacturer's containers/packaging:

    • 1
      Paints: in metal containers with a volume of not more than 10 liters (no limit on quantity).
    • 2
      Aerosols and sprays: cans with paints, household, construction, cosmetics and automotive chemicals with a capacity of up to 1000 ml.
    • 3
      Medicinal, antiseptic, disinfectant and laundry detergents containing up to 70% alcohol in plastic and metal containers of a capacity not exceeding 10 litres.
    • 4
      Perfumes and cosmetic products with an alcohol content of up to 70% in glass and plastic containers.
    • 5
      Alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of up to 70% in glass and other containers with a capacity of not more than 5 litersautomotive (motor, transmission) lubricants without limitation of the container volume.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    • 1
      With the presence on the manufacturer's label/sticker of danger signs of classes 1 to 7 inclusive.
    • 2
      Without a manufacturer's label/sticker giving information on the name of the substance, its properties and storage conditions and, if there are traces of detachment or reattachment or of the affixing of other labels and hazard symbols, on those of the manufacturer.
    • 3
      In the absence (damage) of connections between the control ring on the neck and the lid of the container (seal).
    • 4
      That have traces of leakage, unpleasant smell.
    • 5
      Containing high-octane oxygen-containing additives (chemical compounds that are added to gasoline).
    • 6
      Wrapped in corrugated cardboard, opaque film, scotch tape or other wrapping materials or packed in boxes (except for the manufacturer's packaging containing information¬ on the name of the substance and its properties).

  • Excisable goods

    Permitted:

    Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products with a standardized excise tax stamp, common (still) wines, and fermented beverages actually stronger than 1.2 percent by volume of ethyl alcohol but not higher than 15 percent, and not required to have excise tax stamps by law.

    Not accepted for transportation:

    Alcoholic beverages with an ethyl alcohol content of more than 8.5 percent by volume, without standardized excise labels, tobacco products, liquids used in electronic cigarettes, without standardized excise labels

  • If the hazard symbols listed in this table are represented in other geometric shapes (triangle, square, etc.) or if the numerical values of the symbols differ from those in the table, this cargo is also considered hazardous and must not be transported.
