What you can't send
- Dangerous goods: weapons, flammable liquids and solids, aerosols, gases and deodorants
- Works of art: paintings, stamps, antique books, icons
- Foodstuffs made of animal products, as well as food products which require specific temperature or products which perish quickly
- Jewelry and precious metals
- If, during the inspection of the shipment, a customs officer finds goods that are not accepted for transportation, the parcel will be returned at the sender's expense

Calculation example
The goods cost €200. The total customs payments will be:
- 1import duty = (€200 - €150) × 10% = €5
- 2VAT = (€200 - €150 + €5) × 20% = €11
Total tax charged: €5 + €11 = €16
Postal item customs clearance in Moldova

No taxes are charged

- 1Import duty: 0–30% of the declared value

Calculation example:
The goods cost €200. The total customs payments will be:
- 1import duty = (€200 - €150) × 10% = €5
- 2VAT = (€200 - €150 + €5) × 20% = €11
Total tax charged: €5 + €11 = €16
This may occur if a customs officer finds a violation:
- 1the postal item content differs from the list indicated in the declaration
- 2the declared value differs from the actual value
- 3the parcel contains a commercial batch: more than 3 identical goods were sent (e.g., 5 watches, 4 pairs of shoes, etc.)
- 4the parcel contains goods that are not accepted for transportation
How to ship a parcel from a branch
The parcel is to be given to the branch operator in an open format.
In accordance with the requirements of international transportation, Nova Post employees have to check the contents for goods that are not accepted for transportation.
If the parcel is packed, the operator has the right to open it. The only exception is for factory packed items.
What is needed to send a shipment from Romania

- 3.5sender’s home address
- 3.6receiver’s branch number or postal locker number or complete address in Ukraine
- 4Go to the nearest Nova Post branch.
- 5Prepare the parcel with the assistance of the branch operator.
- 6Pay the cost of the shipment and selected additional services. For example: if you selected packing.
