Payment by the Recipient: Worry-free delivery

This is a handy option allowing the Sender to make an international express shipment and assign the delivery cost to the Recipient. 

You, as a Sender, can manage your logistics costs more efficiently by informing and agreeing on the delivery cost with the recipient in advance.

How does it work

  1. 1
    Defining the payer of logistics services: The Sender must inform the Recipient and obtain consent to pay for logistics services in favor of the Nova Post Group of Companies with the currency of the country of receipt.

    Creating a shipment: The Sender shall create a shipment as usual, specifying all the necessary data for an international shipment.
  3. 3
    Selecting a payer: When registering a shipment, choose the “Payment by the Recipient” option.
  4. 4
    Delivery: Your parcel will be delivered to a branch in the country of the NP's presence.
  5. 5
    Payment: The Recipient shall pay all delivery-related costs in the mobile app or at the branch upon receipt of the parcel.
  6. 6
    Pickup: The Recipient can pick up the parcel at the NP branch.

  • How does Payment by the Recipient work

    Sender

    • 1
      The Sender shall inform the Recipient and agree on the terms of shipment (payment for international delivery services by the Recipient).

      Create a shipment charged for delivery services by the Recipient.
    • 3
      The Recipient shall pay for the delivery services online in the mobile app or at the branch in cash or by card before picking up the shipment.

  • What are the available payment methods

    A payment can be made online in the mobile app or at a branch in cash or by card in the currency of the recipient's country.

  • Is the service available in all countries

    The service is available in countries where Nova Post operates, except for Moldova and Romania.

  • Is this service suitable for large businesses

    Yes, this service is suitable for both small businesses and large corporations seeking additional means of managing the cost of delivering shipments to customers.

  • Why this service is not available for Business Sender

    This service is available for all Business Senders from Ukraine by default. Should there be numerous complaints from recipients, the availability of the service may be suspended. For similar cases, please contact your personal Account Manager.

Parcel customs clearance

  • Shipment cost: up to €45

    The parcel is not subject to additional customs duties (unless the customs determines that the declared value of the parcel exceeds €45).

  • Shipment cost: €45–150

    You need to pay VAT additionally: 19% of the shipment cost.

    For example: the goods cost €100. The recipient needs to pay VAT additionally: €100 × 19% = €19

  • Shipment cost: over €150

    • 1
      Import duty: up to 25% of the shipment cost, depending on the type of goods
    • 2
      VAT: 19% of the shipment cost (declared value + import duty)

Calculation example:

The goods cost €300. The customs payments will total:

    import duty = €300 × 12% = €36
  • 2
    VAT = (€300 + €36) × 19% = €63,84

Tax charged to the recipient: €36 + €63,84 = €99,84

The customs might be entitled to refuse the parcel entry to the country or change the customs payment amount

This can happen if a customs officer detects a breach of the rules:

    The contents differ from the list specified in the declaration.

    The declared value does not correspond to the real value of the parcel.

    Over the past month, the recipient already received international shipments with a total value over €45.

How to receive

At the Nova Post branch

    Get an SMS message about the parcel delivery.
  2. 2
    Visit the specified branch with the original identity documents and the International Express Waybill (IEW) number.
  3. 3
    Provide the operator with the express waybill number and documents.
  4. 4
    Pay the customs duty if it was charged.
  5. 5
    Receive the parcel and a copy of the IEW to confirm receipt.

By courier to the address

    Receive an SMS or email from InPost with information about the date and time of delivery.
  2. 2
    Have your identity documents.

You can receive a parcel up to 30 kg by courier service

    Weight: up to 30 kg

    Width, height, and length shall not exceed 120×80×69 cm

At partner pickup points

    Receive an SMS or email with information about the delivery of the parcel.

    Visit the specified pickup point with the original identity documents and the International Express Waybill (IEW) number.

    Provide the operator with the express waybill number and documents.
  4. 4
    Receive the parcel and a copy of the IEW to confirm receipt.
