Nova Post opened the first parcel locker space in Moldova
Nova Post's new parcel locker space, located at 62C Dacia Boulevard (in the Airport district of Chișinău), meets the latest trends in urban logistics and provides a fast and accessible delivery service for local residents and passengers in transit.
The new location offers a modern infrastructure designed to handle a large volume of parcels and reduce waiting times. The space covers a total area of 115 m², while the 35-metre-long parcel locker line consists of 66 sections and 624 compartments. This makes it the largest parcel locker space in the country, transforming the airport area into a strategic point of urban micro-logistics.
The choice of the Airport town is not accidental. Being a busy transit hub and a residential area in continuous development, the location represents the ideal environment for implementing next-generation delivery concepts. In European Union countries, dedicated spaces like delivery rooms are already integrated as basic infrastructure in busy areas and residential complexes, driven by the rapid growth of e-commerce.
“Nova Post systematically implements the principle of maximum proximity to the customer and installs parcel lockers directly near homes. We call this format «slipper accessibility», because residents can receive parcels literally in their home clothes, 24/7, quickly and without queues. Parcel lockers are becoming an integral part of residential infrastructure, just like elevators or parking lots. That is why we integrated a new format for Moldova and plan to complement the space with additional services”, states Serhii Shapran, CEO of Nova Post in Moldova.
Currently, it is only possible to receive parcels at the parcel locker space. In the future, the functionality will be expanded, making it possible to both store items and send parcels.
